You’d like to see Florence but have only a few hours available? Are you on a cruise and need to get back to your boat on time? No worries, we know how to optimize your time. We’ll be delighted to show you the best of Florence in the shortest time!
Cruise ships usually dock at Livorno (approx 60 miles from Florence), which is generally 1 hour and 15-minute drive and at La Spezia (approx 95 miles from Florence), and that is a 2-hour drive from Florence. Keep this in mind when you’re planning your trip. Coming from Livorno will give you time to explore the city, have a little bit of time on your own to enjoy some of the superb food of Florence, and also some time for shopping! Maybe on your way back, you can make a brief stop at Pisa before boarding your ship again.

After a hectic day visiting the city, you may want to view Florence from a different and unusual perspective: a mini-cruise over the river Arno in one of the old restored boats by the “renaioli.” For centuries these men earned a living by dredging the sand of the river bed (the “rena”), which was then used to build the beautiful palaces, churches, and monuments of the city.
These unique, flatboats were restored and are available to whoever wants to unwind and have a romantic experience, maybe at sunset, when Florence glows of romantic light.
- Highlights: Arno River, Bridges of Florence, Uffizi, Ponte Vecchio, the city highlights seen from the water level
- Tour operates: every day (only in Summer and depending on the weather conditions)
- Tour duration: 2 hours
- Admissions: boat ticket. Contact us for more information
